We’re getting ready to turn a new leaf with kief.
A celebration of cannabis flavour and aroma, the sugar-like texture of kief makes it as fascinating as it is versatile.
A new product in our collection, kief is made from single origin lots of freshly harvested cannabis material from our aeroponically grown cultivars.
Let’s debrief all things kief.
A single origin extract product, these sugar-like crystals are known for their fulsome terpene profile, potency, and versatility. Carefully crafted from freshly harvested cannabis material, this product is recognized as one of the truest representations of a cannabis cultivar.
Single origin means that our kief is made from one cultivar. This ensures that each kief product is representative of the specific cultivar’s unique terpene and cannabinoid profile, and that the finished product is an authentic representation of that cultivar.
Extracts are substances created from cannabis by processing the material in order to separate the cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant material. The lower amount of plant material makes extracts more potent than dried flower. Kief is one example of an extract product.
As the term “extract” implies, separating certain compounds from the plant material requires a process called extraction. There are a variety of ways to do this. While some extraction methods use solvents (i.e. CO2, butane) to help isolate the coveted compounds from the plant material, at JWC, our solvent-less extraction methods maintain the integrity of the cultivar to achieve consistency, potency, and a repeatable experience from harvest to harvest.
These sugar-like crystals are comprised of resinous trichome glands that have been mechanically separated from cannabis material during the extraction process.
Among consumers, kief is sometimes referred to as “pollen,” however it is important to note that kief is made up of trichomes, not pollen.
Known for its versatility, kief can be used as an adjunct ingredient in the preparation of cannabis for smoking or decarbed for ingestion.
To maintain freshness and quality, kief should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. No expiry date has been established for our kief products; however, improper storage may compromise the integrity of the product. Our packaging offers protection from UV light, which helps maintain the quality of the kief.
Kief brings out the unique aroma and flavour of your favourite terpene profiles.
Prior to consuming this product, we recommend reviewing Health Canada’s Cannabis Consumer Information Sheet to understand how THC (Δ⁹-tetrahydrocannabinol), may affect you. Always consume responsibly.
From cultivation and harvesting to packaging and processing, our kief is produced on-site at our licensed facility, located at 855 Trillium Drive, in Kitchener, Ontario. Each of our cultivars are grown exclusively using our GrowthSTORM™ aeroponic technology, recognized for producing clean, consistent cannabis.
